Privacy policy
Persec Services Pty Ltd is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose personal information, in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
1. Who we are
This policy is issued by Persec Services Pty Ltd (ABN 00 000 000 000), an Australian company providing occupational violence and aggression training. References to "we", "us" or "our" mean Persec Services Pty Ltd.
2. What information we collect
We collect personal information that is reasonably necessary to provide our services. This may include:
- Contact details — name, work email, phone number, organisation, role.
- Enquiry information — the content of messages and forms you send us, including any details you choose to provide about workplace incidents or training needs.
- Engagement records — for clients we contract with, records of training delivered, attendance and competency.
- Technical information — when you visit our website, basic information such as your IP address, browser type, pages visited and the date/time of access. We use this only for site security and aggregate analytics.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive information unless it is necessary to deliver a specific service and you have consented to provide it.
3. How we collect it
We collect personal information directly from you when you:
- Submit our contact form or request a resource;
- Email, call or write to us;
- Engage us to deliver training or consulting services;
- Attend a training session we deliver to your organisation.
Where you are an attendee at a session contracted by your employer, we generally receive your details from your employer rather than directly from you.
4. How we use it
We use personal information to:
- Respond to enquiries and provide quotes;
- Design, schedule and deliver training and consulting services;
- Maintain training and competency records;
- Send you material you have requested (such as resources or follow-up information);
- Comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not add enquirers to a marketing list without their explicit opt-in.
5. Who we share it with
We disclose personal information only where necessary to deliver our services, and only to:
- Trusted service providers (for example, our email and document storage providers, all hosted in Australia where reasonably practicable);
- Your employer, where you attend training contracted by them, for the purpose of attendance and competency reporting;
- Government agencies or regulators, where required by law.
We do not disclose personal information overseas, except where a service provider's infrastructure is hosted outside Australia in jurisdictions with comparable privacy protections.
6. How we store and protect it
We store personal information using reputable, security-hardened systems, with access restricted to staff who need it to do their work. We use encryption in transit and at rest where the underlying systems support it.
We retain personal information only for as long as required to deliver our services and meet our legal obligations. Training and competency records are typically retained for seven years.
7. Cookies and analytics
This website uses a small number of strictly necessary cookies and may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which pages are useful. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking scripts. You can disable cookies in your browser; the site will continue to work normally.
8. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you;
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or out of date;
- Withdraw consent for future communications;
- Make a complaint about how we have handled your information.
To exercise any of these rights, please email privacy@persecservices.com.au. We will respond within 30 days.
9. Complaints
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can make a complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or to the law. The "last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when it was most recently revised. Material changes will be flagged on this page for at least 30 days.
